| Intention:
It is our intention to have an impact on creating the World We Want
to live in! A dialogue about how WE in the Art Tile community have
a unique and POWERFUL opportunity for a positive impact. |
| Mission & Purpose:
Creating an economic incentive to mine & produce materials in
our industry...sustainably, responsibly, and profitably...so we can
keep doing what WE LOVE...making and marketing beautiful Art Tiles...sustainably,
responsibly, and profitably. |
| Commitment: We Pledge to
PAY MORE MONEY for Environmentally Responsible and Sustainably Mined
Materials under the Good Stewardship of an organization yet to be
created but for which there are already successful models such as
the Forestry Stewardship Council. |
| Why?: Because...WE CAN! In
the Art Tile niche, the majority of our costs involve Marketing (and
marketing "green" has definitely arrived), Artisan's labor,
capital investments, equipment, etc.,...but only a SMALL FRACTION
of costs are in Materials. So run the numbers and ask yourselves,
"What fraction of Material costs would I be willing to move over
to Marketing?" |
| What's Next?: Join Us! Make
friends and influence the entire Tile Industry! Become an early adaptor
of the MiMES Art Tile Initiative. Take the Pledge and begin Marketing
Your Commitment now...as a Vendor or as a Dealer or...Why not
figure out a "Golden Circle of Virtue" and incentivise the
entrie Supply Chain! Help Network Us to folks with interests,
knowledge, contacts, expertise, in fields like mining, politics, education
(A&M), grant writing, business, tile, geology...and if you know
anyone who is the CEO or head of Marketing at a large international
commodity tile corporation...please introduce us. |
